Banking & reconciliation

Your bank and your books,
telling one story.

Import statements from any bank, match them to your records with smart suggestions, and know — not hope — that what's in the books is what's in the bank.

Reconcile

Reconciliation without the dread.

Matching the bank to the books is how errors, missed income and fraud get caught. OneBooks makes it a short, regular habit instead of a quarterly ordeal.

  • Statement import — CSV and Excel from any bank in any country; no bank credentials shared, no feed to break.
  • Smart suggestions — each statement line is matched against your invoices, bills, expenses and payments; you confirm.
  • Differences explained — what's in the bank but not the books (and vice versa) is listed, not hidden.
  • An audit trail of matches — every reconciliation is recorded, so 'why does this differ?' has an answer.
  • Book vs statement balance — side by side, until they agree.
Money accounts

Cash and bank as first-class citizens.

Real businesses run on a cash drawer and several accounts at once. The books should model that, not fight it.

  • Separate cash and bank accounts — each with its own live balance from the ledger.
  • Contra transfers — move money between cash and bank in two clicks, posted correctly.
  • Payment methods that route — card, cash and transfer land in the right account automatically.
  • Every payment traceable — from the bank line to the invoice it settled.

Banking — common questions

Does OneBooks connect directly to my bank?

By design, OneBooks uses statement import (CSV/Excel) instead of live bank feeds: it works with every bank in every country, never asks for your banking credentials, and has nothing to silently break. Export from your bank, import, reconcile.

How does matching work?

Each imported line is compared against your recorded invoices, bills, expenses and payments, and likely matches are suggested. You confirm each match — nothing is auto-posted behind your back.

What if the bank shows something my books don't?

Unmatched lines are exactly what reconciliation is for: they surface missed expenses, unrecorded income or bank charges, and you can record the missing document on the spot.

Can I track a cash drawer and a bank account?

Yes — cash and bank are separate accounts with live ledger balances, and contra transfers move money between them in two clicks.
