Cookie policy

Last updated: 16 September 2026

This page lists everything our websites — getonebooks.com, the documentation and the developer site — store in your browser, why it is there, how long it stays, and how to change your mind at any time. The list is short on purpose: no advertising, no cross-site tracking, and analytics only on getonebooks.com, only if you say yes.

At a glance

  • No advertising or cross-site tracking. No ad pixels, no social-media trackers, no browser fingerprinting.
  • Analytics only with your consent. Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Accept analytics”, and its cookies are deleted if you withdraw.
  • Everything else is strictly necessary. Remembering your cookie choice, and keeping the site working.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. Local storage and session storage keep information in the browser in the same way. The rules treat them alike — anything a website stores on your device or reads from it — so this page lists all of them, not only cookies.

What we store

getonebooks.com

Our main website.

Strictly necessary

These need no consent: each one records a choice you made, or makes the site work the way you asked. None of them is used to track you.

  • onebooks-consent

Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, and when, so we do not ask on every page. After six months we ask again.

    Set by
    OneBooks
    Type
    Local storage
    Duration
    6 months
  • ob-geo-dismissed

Remembers that you closed the suggestion to visit your country’s version of this site.

    Set by
    OneBooks
    Type
    Local storage
    Duration
    6 months
  • logdeck.session_id

A random code for this tab that groups error reports together, so we can find and fix what breaks. It is sent only with an error report, to our own logging server.

    Set by
    OneBooks
    Type
    Session storage
    Duration
    Until you close the tab

Analytics — only with your consent

Set only after you choose “Accept analytics”. They show us, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages help. Google processes this on our behalf as our processor (see our sub-processors); advertising features are switched off, and Google Analytics does not store IP addresses.

  • _ga

Tells one browser apart from another, so visits can be counted.

    Set by
    Google Analytics
    Type
    Cookie
    Duration
    13 months
  • _ga_X3K8KBQEX2

Keeps track of the current visit for the same count.

    Set by
    Google Analytics
    Type
    Cookie
    Duration
    13 months

docs.getonebooks.com

Our documentation sets no cookies, has no analytics and sends nothing to third parties — error reports go only to our own logging server. It keeps three things in your browser, all strictly necessary:

  • starlight-theme

Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.

    Set by
    OneBooks
    Type
    Local storage
    Duration
Until you clear your browser data
  • sl-sidebar-state

Remembers which sections of the navigation you opened while you move between pages.

    Set by
    OneBooks
    Type
    Session storage
    Duration
    Until you close the tab
  • logdeck.session_id

A random code for this tab that groups error reports together, so we can find and fix what breaks. It is sent only with an error report, to our own logging server.

    Set by

    Session storage
    Duration
    Until you close the tab

developer.getonebooks.com

Our developer site and developer console set no cookies, have no analytics and send nothing to third parties — error reports go only to our own logging server. Everything they keep in your browser is strictly necessary, including, once you sign in to the console, the token that keeps you signed in:

Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.

    Set by
    OneBooks

    Local storage
    Duration
Until you clear your browser data
  • sl-sidebar-state

Remembers which sections of the navigation you opened while you move between pages.

    Duration
    Until you close the tab
  • logdeck.session_id

A random code for this tab that groups error reports together, so we can find and fix what breaks. It is sent only with an error report, to our own logging server.

  • dev-console.theme

Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode in the console.

    Set by

  • dev-console.orgId

Keeps you signed in to the console. Removed when you sign out.

Other technology — and what we do not use

  • Fonts are served from this website, not from a font provider, so opening a page contacts no one else.
  • Country suggestion. To offer your country’s version of the site, the page asks our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which country your connection comes from. The answer is used on the page and not stored.
  • Error reports. If something breaks in your browser, a description of the error is sent to our own logging server so we can fix it.
  • Not used: advertising pixels, social-media plug-ins, session recording and browser fingerprinting.

Changing your mind

Use “Change cookie settings” on this page, or the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing: choose “Decline”, analytics stops straight away, and its cookies are deleted.

Your browser’s controls

Every browser lets you see, delete and block cookies and site data, usually in its privacy settings. Blocking the strictly necessary entries does not break the site; we just cannot remember your choice, so we will ask again.

The OneBooks app

This policy covers our websites. The OneBooks app uses only the cookies strictly necessary to keep you signed in and secure, described in our privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

When what we store changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects what we ask your consent for, we ask you again.
